OCI DB Link causes Oracle to dump core. Anyone seen this?

One of my developers is trying to get his queries to work through an Oracle link. This is what he gets:

psqldb=> insert into ebi.STU_MULT_PLN_WITH_MULT_CLS_T select * from STU_MULT_PLN_WITH_MULT_CLS_T@oracledb;
ERROR: OCI error: ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE

And this is what I get on the Oracle side:

Errors in file /opt/oracle/diag/rdbms/dtr1stg/DTR1STG/trace/DTR1STG_ora_17782.trc (incident=456641):

Three core dumps to one query. They are new errors in the ORA600 Diagnostic Tool. So I opend SR's for all three.

Anyone seen anything like this?

The extension used to create the DB LINK is EDB_DBLINK_OCI

Hi Mark,

Error you metioned is found when network connectivity is poor or they server and client and gets disconnected in middle. Moreover, Is this only query you find issue with? In case, It's not only query then Oracle may answer this question.

Re: OCI DB Link causes Oracle to dump core. Anyone seen this?

Nope. Not a poor network.

So far this is the only query causing the issue. The query runs fine in Oracle without any problems.

There are three SR's open with Oracle and right now it is generating errors they have never seen before. And my favortie says file #203 is corrupt. And there IS NO file #203.

Re: OCI DB Link causes Oracle to dump core. Anyone seen this?

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your response. Althought, It could be probably a corruption with oracle dictionaries about file 203 detail. However, I hardly think that could be related with error returned by query. This error seems quite different here. I assume this error repeats at every execution.

I referred line "ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [kghfrh_internal()+448] [SIGSEGV] [ADDR:0x7F0F642EB4D0] [PC:0xC66B4B0] ". This line speaks of segmentation fault(signal 11 in linux). This signal is majorly found in case of fault memory. Still, This could be a different case. It would be better If Oracle may answer this query first.

Meanwhile, If It's feasible for you to share table definition along with data at both oracle and EPAS ends then It would be really helpful.

Thanks & Regards,
