While restore timeline issuse in bart


Hi Folks,
i just know about the manual recovery sceneiors.

i have a backup of before 2 days.
i have a archivelog till now.

My db is got corrupted 11.38 AM..and immediately db got down.
Now we are remover the old cluster file and restore the backup folders.
--Hint:- check the backup tags and craete a recoery.conf file inside data directory.
then restart the database it showing timeline issue..

If anybody can you please send me the proper recovery steps..
The backup is tool thorugh pg_basebackup's.

Hi @Din2pg,

 

Could you please share the below details :

 

1) Exact error you are facing while starting the database cluster from the backup.

2) Have you created the recovery.conf file to apply the WAL's?, if yes, please share it.

3) Share the database logs with the errors faced while starting the database cluster from the backup.

 

Please refer the below steps to recover the database cluster from pg_basebackup and archives :

 

1) Create the recovery.conf file in the data directory of the backup.

2) Add the restore_command in it, restore_command = 'cp <archivelog_location>/%f "%p"'

3) Start the database cluster from backup.

 

Please let us know in case of any issues/queries.
