Postgres 11.6 Failing to Install on Windows Server 2012 R2

Hello,

This is the first Postgres install on this windows server.  I'm seeing the error below in the install-postgresql logfile.

The postgres service is also failing to start and I'm getting the same error from psql.  I've created a Windows firewall rule for port 5432.

Please advise.

Starting the database server...
Executing cscript //NoLogo "E:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\11\installer\server\startserver.vbs" postgresql-x64-11
Script exit code: 0

Script output:
Starting postgresql-x64-11
Service postgresql-x64-11 started successfully
startserver.vbs ran to completion

Script stderr:

Executing E:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\11\bin\psql.exe -c "CREATE EXTENSION adminpack" -d postgres
Script exit code: 2

Re: Postgres 11.6 Failing to Install on Windows Server 2012 R2

Hi @cville82,

This issue usually happens, when there is a program such as an anti-virus running on the server and causing the installation issue.

Please review and stop any such program if running on the server and do the installation again and share the installation logs with us.

Regards,

Sudhir
