Re: PEM installation

I got an issue on the PEM server:

psql connection was asking for password everytime.

I changed the connectivity to "TRUST" for all servers and databases in pg_hba.conf file but after that also same issue.

So I did:

alter role postgres password '';

and now not able to connect to psql at all.Can anyone please help on this.

After this I need to add database nodes to PEM.

Thanks,

Sandeep

Hi Sandeep,

Unfortunately, you cannot simply change the password to '' in order to remove the password.  Instead, you will need to perform ALTER ROLE postgres WITH PASSWORD NULL

With regards to being asked for a password every time--have you tried using the PGPASSWORD environment variable, or storing that in .pgpass?
