Error while registering publication server

Hi,

I am using xdb-replication-server 6.2.4 to migrate data from PostgreSQL 9.2 to EPAS 10, while the replication server installation is successfull, I am getting below error when adding publication database using CLI eventhough the publication port is correct:

Error: Replication svr port is invalid.

I am using below command to add publication throught the CLI:

Command : java -jar edb-repcli.jar -addpubdb -repsvrfile pubsvrfile.prop -dbtype postgresql -dbhost 192.168.184.199 -dbport 5432 -dbuser postgres -dbpassword encrypted_password -database postgres -repgrouptype s

Content of pubsvrfile.prop is as follows:

host=192.168.184.205
port=9051
user=admin
password=encrypted_password

Please let me know if anyone has encountered the issue and how I can solve this?

Re: Error while registering publication server

Hi Nikhil,

Please remove the spaces between each lines in pubsvrfile.prop that should resolve your issue.

Content of pubsvrfile.prop is as follows:

host=192.168.184.205
port=9051
user=admin
password=encrypted_password

Restart the xdb services.

We were able to reproduce the same with spaces and it fixed as above.

Re: Error while registering publication server

Hi,

Kindly verify below inputs on publication server host.

1. If publication server is on localhost then modify host in pubsvrfile.prop as localhost.
2. Check if xdb services are running on the publication server.
systemctl status edb-xdbpubserver.service
3. Also check if the port you are using i.e. 9051 is open and no other service is running on the same port. If it is the case then check the same by changing the port.

Hope this helps.

Hi @ajinkya,

Thanks for the update.

I have taken care of all the points you have mentioned and it does not work.Publication is getting created from the replication console but not from CLI.

Thanks,

Nikhil

Re: Error while registering publication server

Hi @kapil @ajinkya ,

You are correct. The issue was with the space.

Thank you for your valuable inputs.
