Re: EDB-10 with Bart installation

Hi Din,

Regarding Options which needs to select.

[1] Development (e.g. a developer's laptop) : If you are using this server for Developement purpose. (Not for Production)

[2] General Purpose (e.g. a web or application server) : This is general purpose (Mixed softwares i.e Ex: Running application server and database server in single host or together). You can use it for production if you have enough resources. Note: if you want to do linux patches then you have to down application server as well as database server.

[3] Dedicated (a server running only Advanced Server) : Linux server having only EDB AS database server. You can use it for Production.

i'll suggest you to read installation guide before installtion.

Siva.

Re: EDB-10 with Bart installation

Hi Diny,

I would suggest you to please select General Purpose,

About edb-Dynatune,

edb-dynature is a feature which will automatically adjust memory parameters rather than you set. That's up to you that you can select edb-dynatune to server it self decide memory parameters or you can set manually.

Re: EDB-10 with Bart installation

Hi Diny,

Regarding Yum Credentials,

The rpm files of tools are available to EDB Customers who have valid subscription.

For further queries on this you can raise request to Support team (support@enterprisedb.com) for Yum Credentials through which you can have the rpm's.

Please let us know if you need anymore details.

Siva.

Re: EDB-10 with Bart installation

If this is urgent, you should probably contact your support person. I don't know the steps in getting our tools without access to the yum repository.

Re: EDB-10 with Bart installation

Hi, Diny

You can use your YUM repository credentials (check out https://www.enterprisedb.com/user with valid subscription account) to login to https://yum.enterprisedb.com/ from your browser.

You can then download complete Tarball-ed files from the website, which contains EFM and BART packages.

The EFM yum installation does more than just write files to disk. Can you give me information about why you think this works?

Re: EDB-10 with Bart installation

Hi, Bobby,

As far as I know, valid subscribers can use their account to access files in https://yum.enterprisedb.com/, and there are all-in-one tarball-ed files there for subscribed users to download.

Downloading Tarball-ed File for Offline InstallationDownloading Tarball-ed File for Offline Installation

After EDB subscribers download and extract these files in isolated environment, they can setup local YUM repositories to install EDB products with yum install command.

Our sample repo file looks like as follows.

[local-edb-11]
name=Local EPAS 11 Packages for Enterprise Linux 7 - $basearch
baseurl=file:///var/local/repos/edb_11/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0

[local-edb-dependencies]
name=Local EPAS Dependency Packages for Enterprise Linux 7 - $basearch
baseurl=file:///var/local/repos/edb_dependencies/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0

[local-edb-tools]
name=Local Packages EDB Tools for Enterprise Linux 7 - $basearch
baseurl=file:///var/local/repos/edb_tools/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0

For EFM and BART, subscribed users can just download tarballed files from Tools and Dependencies pages.
