Can not use profile when password_encryption is scram-sha-256 ?

Hi

I use EnterpriseDB 10.7.15 on x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, compiled by gcc (GCC) 4.8.5 20150623 (Red Hat 4.8.5-36), 64-bit

and password_encryption is scram-sha-256

I check menual and find lines

Database_Compatibility_for_Oracle_Developers_Guide__v10 (82 page)

Advanced Server allows a database superuser to create named profiles.
Each profile defines rules for password management that augment password and md5 authentication.

The rules in a profile can:
 count failed login attempts
 lock an account due to excessive failed login attempts
 mark a password for expiration
 define a grace period after a password expiration
 define rules for password complexity
 define rules that limit password re-use

My Question is

Can not use profile when password_encryption is scram-sha-256 ?

Hi jazzlian,

Yes, you can use profile when password_encryption is scram-sha-256. The scram-sha-256 method is introduced from PostgreSQL 10 onwards.
